Division of Student Affairs

Working for the University of Texas’ Division of Student Affairs was my introduction to working with actual established brand guidelines. Not only did I learn the university’s brand standards, but I also had to collaborate with other designers as well as older design work that needed to be adapted to new mediums, sizes, or purposes. I also had the opportunity to work with social media creators for the university as well as students and their organizations that needed a push to get more engagement out of the campus.

Mobile Content

Considering the demographic of university students, our main way of reaching out to the community and alerting them of upcoming events and news was using social media. That being the combination of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This required creating designs that could adapt between the different platform’s display dimensions.

Covid Campaign

During my last months working for the Student Affairs offices, we transitioned to working from home due to Covid. The first thing I was tasked with was creating a social awareness campaign that would be used around campus to promote social distancing, wearing masks, and washing your hands. This campaign is still being used on campus and I find it odd seeing it after I graduated because I never had a chance to see it implemented while I was still working for UTA.
