Baseline Magazine is a international magazine that is dedicated to typography and graphic design. The concept behind this project was to find a typographic article in which I would create a design and layout for it if it were to be theoretically featured in Baseline. The article, ‘Just your type’ by Sarah Hyndman, discusses the innate psychological response people have to typography and the subconscious judgements people make the moment they see a particular font. With this article as the foundation, my design approach was to use a grid layout and blueprint aesthetics, as to refer to the design and calculation process when it comes to creating a new font. For the cover I used various well known fonts that people already have a deep-rooted association with.

The amount of self control it took to not include comic sans was astounding.
