My first experience with Graphic Design started when I was 11 or so with my aunt working as a Graphic Designer. She served as a huge inspiration to me, before she even decided to study Graphic Design, as a talented artist. Growing up I loved art and drawing, and seeing the direction she went in influenced me to become a designer as well. I did initially fumble deciding to study architecture due to parental pressure, but ultimately I didn’t love architecture enough to pursue it as a career.
With my start as an artist instead of a designer, a lot of my works tend to have hand drawn illustrations to supplement the designs. I feel like at the start of my design career it was crutch for my lack of experience using fonts, hierarchy, and layout, but as I’ve grown I feel like my foundations have gotten stronger alongside my understandings of color theory and illustration work. I only hope I continue to create more and grow as an artist and designer.
